These designs are inspired by the art style of outrun and new retrowave music. To me retrowave has a very high dreamstate like feel to it while also having a very danceable groove most of the time (okay, all of the time). As a result the first thing I thought of was to portray dancers with a high 80’s synthspop feel with hints of neon art styles.
This body of work is all about desire. Two dancers lost within themselves and longing for someone special. They’re reaching for eachother’s embrace while the world seems adamant to keep them apart.
